This weekend we travelled to Edinburgh, in Scotland. The getaway was planned around seeing Conor Oberst at the Queen’s Hall. The gig was fantastic! We left Newcastle, by train, on Friday morning at 8:40am arriving into Edinburgh around 10am.
We stayed at the Travelodge Edinburgh central which I could’t fault. Room was clean, price was very reasonable and we were able to check in very early!
We had a walk right around Edinburgh’s old town on the first day. Passing the Scottish Parliament buildings and walked up to Arthur’s Seat for a panoramic view of the Scottish capital. After grabbing a quick burger we headed to the gig.
On the second day we were booked with Mercet tours to see the Vaults. Our guide, Simon, was very informative and knowledgable of the history of Edinburgh. Immediately after the tour we headed back to the surface and I saw the city in a new light!
With only a few hours remaining we walked around the new town and grabbed so food at the Boozy Cow – which was amazing!
